Both on and off campus services are available to all Star Care program residents and are designed to achieve the best possible quality of life. These contracted services include mainstream education through WCISEC and Canton Union School District, day programming through Fulton County Rehabilitation Center, community activities and outings, and special events.
West Central Illinois Special Education Coop provides school services up to the age of 22. This specialized program offers an RN on staff and present at all times, as well as Physical, Occupational, and Speech therapies on an individualized basis.
Classrooms are separated by age and abilities, ensuring the best possible educational experience for your child.
Students from Star Care are integrated into Canton general education classes and activities, so they are a part of this community, and treated as such. Field Trips, Special Olympics, Specialty Camps, and special events such as Prom and Graduation ceremonies are all a part of the educational experience for Star Care residents.
Fulton County Rehab Center provides Day Programming for our residents who are older than 22. This program offers an RN/LPN on staff, as well. Specialized and individualized programming is provided daily according to the recommendations of the Interdisciplinary Team. Programming includes live music every week, day trips, day camps and various hands on activities.
National Seating and Mobility is a nationally known and renowned mobility company who provides services for all of Star Care’s needs. We receive weekly visits for evaluation and repair of adaptive mobility equipment, including gait trainers, wheelchairs, bath and hygiene equipment, standers, etc. Our professional service techs, Ed Maubach, CRTS and Lenny Streitmatter, have been working with us for over 20 years, and are available 7 days/week for consultation and/or emergency repairs.
